Your obligations as an Associate Producer : Declaration of your recordings

In order to correctly perform its tasks of collecting and distributing rights, the SPPF must have a minimum of information available from its associates, by whom it has been entrusted with the exclusive management mandate.
Declarations of phonograms and videograms to the SPPF Corporate Register, together with sales declarations are formalities which must be carried out with a minimum of delay. Without these declarations, the SPPF cannot carry out the procedures necessary for the work of distributing your rights.

The SPPF's Corporate Register and Data Base

Declarations of phonograms and videograms are made by you using printed forms or computer discs : all of this material forms the SPPF's Corporate Register.
Each declaration is followed by the checks required for proper management of your rights. The SPPF currently manages over 1.000.000 phonograms and almost 9.500 videograms.
Daily updating of the Corporate Register is entered onto the SPPF database which includes, amongst other things, playing time statements, amounts collected and the amount of sales per phonogram.
Right from the outset, the SPPF was aware of the need to adopt a unique method of identification of audio and audiovisual recordings. It has therefore implemented the ISRC codification method which was adop-ted by the ISO in November 1986, within the framework of the management of the rights of the producers which it represents. Thus, each phonogram and videogram declared to the Corporate Register is given an ISRC Code (International Standard Recording Code).
Generalised use of the ISRC Code offers many advantages :

•control over the use of your recordings,
•simplification of joint management of your rights,
•helps to combat against piracy.
Example of an ISRC Code:
I SRC FR D38 95 3021 0
  1) 2) 3) 4) 5)
